Women Are Faithful

Women hold a vast array of attributes—compassion, kindness, considerateness, strength—but if she had to select one, Connie Zweigle would describe women as faithful.

A long time BJM partner and donor, Connie has faithfully taught ballet and participated in Nail Days with our team. Throughout her own life, she can recount many different women who exemplified faithfulness to her. One of these women is her mother, who adopted Connie and her brother from Korea. “Growing up, I was a total rebel; I did not love Jesus,” says Connie. “For most of my life, I chose to completely do my own thing.” Yet, throughout the years, Connie’s mother prayed for her. “She was part of a Moms Who Pray group at her church,” says Connie. “She faithfully prayed and prayed for me. She had so much faith that God had placed me in our family for a reason.”

To the glory of God, the Lord answered her prayers in the affirmative and Connie came to Christ in her mid- to late-twenties. “My mom has faithfully served God and been obedient her whole life,” says Connie. “It doesn’t mean it was perfect, but she’s been a faithful rock in my life. I know I can always reach out to her and she’ll be there. She’s full of the wisdom of the Lord and I am so thankful for her.”

Connie’s commitment to the women and girls in our BJM community stems from her mother’s faithfulness to her children and to the Lord. It emphasizes the importance of our own faithfulness towards those God has called us to love. “First of all, I hope that BJM’s women and girls will come to know Jesus,” says Connie. “Second, that they know their value and are given the same kind of opportunities I was given. It’s important for these girls to know that their value and dignity come from who they are in Christ.”

The faithfulness of Godly women in Connie’s life has helped shape her identity and her values, giving her a heart for the women and girls in San Francisco: “I had the opportunity to teach ballet for about a year. I saw the positive impact that BJM had on people’s lives. It is such a beautiful representation of who Jesus is and what He stands for.”
