Embracing Gratitude Through Remembering and Celebrating
As we approach the Thanksgiving season, our hearts fill with gratitude. We look back at the transformation we've witnessed in our community and marvel at the resilience, courage, and strength that women, girls, and families have shown. Bright futures realized often start with this perspective shift. Our gratitude is not just a sentiment; it's our heartfelt response to the change we see, a change that is reshaping lives and communities, one story at a time.
Not only is this a best practice, but we also see it in Scripture. Did you know the word “remember” is used over 350 times in the Bible? God also set up specific guidelines for celebrations throughout the Old Testament to ensure his people paused, remembered, and celebrated all that He had done - both in a particular season, but also in the story arc of what He has been up to for generations.
At BJM, we consciously choose gratitude. We celebrate every victory, no matter how small, and believe it is gratitude that paves our pathway toward our brighter futures. This perspective is contagious, spreading hope, resilience, and a sense of community.
We hope that as you enter into this season of gratitude, you are inspired to read how God has been at work in and through Because Justice Matters. We hope that you also take time to reflect, remember, and celebrate how God is also at work in your life.
