A Grateful Look Back Moment #5: Fall Expansions & New Additions
This fall, our weekly ministry programs exploded in the best way!
Our Youth Apprenticeship Program expanded, adding three more girls as they led younger girls weekly in dance and music. It has been such a joy to watch them grow in their communication skills, leadership, compassion, and confidence. They’ve learned the importance of preparation, the power of showing up, different ways to express themselves creatively, and the impact of prayer in our communities.
We also welcomed 21 brand new girls and their families into our community and creative arts classes. We look forward to building new relationships with each of them as they grow within our community.
We’re so thankful for all of these new, beautiful faces…but a special thank you to all of our dance instructors! We love you and are excited to support and continue to cheer you on as you enter into new seasons of life!
We’re so grateful for the expansion of each of our different Family Ministries this year
Since September, we’ve launched:
weekly Zumba classes with San Francisco Recreation & Parks
additional in-person and online Bible studies
Mothers’ Breakfast, co-leading with San Francisco City Academy
As we have the privilege of providing Brave Spaces for families each week, we’ve been blessed to have the ability to adapt to the needs of this community through intentional listening and the development of trust-filled, long term relationships.
We’re grateful for community partners who have the same vision of providing important services and cultivating these much needed spaces in the Tenderloin.
This year, we had 5 student trainees, added 4 long term staff members
….and welcomed one of the tiniest new additions to the BJM team, congratulations, Lauren Butts, BJM’s EdenMade Director!
Of all of the things we are grateful for this year…serving and being a part of this community is at the top of all of our lists!
We’re choosing hope in this season. Take a moment to pause and reflect on the past season and appreciate what God has done.
