A Grateful Look Back Moment #1 - New Programs & Vision
Early this year, we launched two exciting training initiatives!
Both of these programs truly reflect the heart of what we do at BJM: partnering with young women as they step into their God given abilities and leadership.
Youth Apprenticeship Program
Two of our high school students became lead teachers in our dance classes. It was an honor to see them grow in their leadership and influence in the BJM community. Each week they led classes, taught choreography, while being coached by our team. The semester culminated in a live performance by their students. We’re so proud and grateful for who they are.
YWAM School of Urban Leadership
We also partnered with @ywamsf to launch the first School of Urban Leadership cohort! This was a 9-month school where students learned about God’s heart for cities, theology of place, the importance of loving our neighborhoods well while also gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced urban ministry. We celebrated as they graduated and are so grateful for their time with us! (If you’re interested in learning more about this model and focusing specifically on serving women and girls, e-mail soul@ywamsanfrancisco.org for more information about our next cohort!)
At the beginning of this year, we got into our EdenMade outreach rhythms again with fresh vision!
For each monthly outreach, we have a team of women who go into the club with gift bags and resources while another team stays behind to pray and intercede on behalf of the women and our in club team.
Each outreach is filled with testimony after testimony of the work God is doing in each woman’s life.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit has moved from the dressing room to the club floor. In addition to the women, we’ve had the opportunity to pray over the bouncers, DJs, managers, front desk attendants, security guards.
We loved onboarding new volunteer team members this season and are so grateful for each volunteer who makes this ministry happen each month. Thank you!
In March, we had the opportunity as a staff to get away for our first BJM staff retreat since March 2020.
(Yes, you heard that right, the weekend before the world shut down was our last staff retreat.)
We prayed.
We worshiped.
We laughed.
We strategized and planned.
And then, we prayed some more.
These two days were filled with team-building and looking forward to the future. Being together, unmasked, for the first time in two years brought new life and breath into our team.
We’re so grateful for our donors who invest specifically in our team development - Thank you!
