Bringing Unity to Community

There is strength in unity. When we collaborate with others, especially those who are motivated by shared values, our impact is deepened. One of the supportive communities that collaborates with us is Canvas Church SF, whose mission is to point creatives to their Creator that they would become fully alive followers of Jesus. Seven years ago, Canvas found that we share a common passion for creativity, justice, and restoration—and they’ve been partnering with us ever since.

“We collaborate with other ministries because we are better together,” says Jordyn Turkovich, the partnerships director at Canvas. “When the Church works together, our reach is farther and our impact is greater.”

In that sort of collaborative community, everyone is both impacting and impacted. It’s a mutual encouragement.

“Collaborating with BJM has filled spirits in our Church community,” says Jordyn. “Our eyes are open to what God is doing in San Francisco, Some of our favorite memories are connecting with women while doing their nails, praying for women in the adult entertainment industry, watching girls’ faces light up with the joy of dance, and hearing in-person stories of women’s lives being changed by BJM.”

We each hold unique influence that we can bring to the table, something special that each individual brings. Hebrews 10:24 gives us the principle, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." When organizations, churches, social circles and families all come together, we get to encourage each other in living out our values, unifying our city under a shared vision of a brighter future.

“We are so inspired by the impact BJM is making,” says Jordyn. “Girls and women's lives are being changed because of BJM’s commitment, love, and passion for them. BJM is leading people to Jesus’ love, walking with these women no matter what season of life they find themselves in. We are honored to be a part of this beautiful work.”
