Welcome to the BJM Summer Treasure Series

At Because Justice Matters, we experience God reorienting our finite perspective towards his eternal one. He encourages us daily—in times of prayer, connection, bible study, worship, and service—to see those whom he sees, hear those whom he hears, and love those whom he loves.

As He brings about the restoration of all things, the Lord seeks us out and asks if we will choose to partner with his divine plan of healing and renewal.

Within this call lies an urging to engage with the brokenness, injustice, and inequality that surround us. Sometimes, to do so is overwhelming. Yet, as we fix our eyes on him, we can have confidence in a God who is both sovereign and intimate, powerful yet personal, Yahweh-Elohim and Immanuel.

He reassures us that he sees not only the problems, but the person. He invites us to do the same.

Through this summer blog series, we will be exploring who God treasures and the different ways that God shares His treasures with all of us. You are invited to see the women and girls in the Tenderloin as He sees them: with eyes of compassion and unconditional love.

These “treasures” are created with immeasurable beauty, intelligence, creativity, perseverance, and faith. Despite their various life circumstances, challenges, talents, and dreams, a single identity unifies them: they are beloved daughters of the most high God.

We are truly excited for you to come to know their stories, hear their laughter, and stand in awe of the intricate beauty that the Lord has woven into each and every one of their lives.
